Classic cars, motorcycles, trucks and homemade cycles of all kinds showed up to fill Market Street. Unfortunately, the number count of vehicles that arrived for the Meet and Greet event was not recorded, but everyone seemed to be having a grand visit.
The ladies in the pie house sold every piece of pie, there being 60 pies of 23 different varieties as well as several pans of “just out of the oven” cinnamon rolls. The cafes were busy from breakfast to closing and lots of second hand and unique treasures left the hill forever.
The Alder Creek Pioneer Museum was host to over 100 visitors and the Flat Possum Pickers gave wonderful entertainment to the outdoor street fair. Sponsors to the Community Day were Mercer Bros. Winery and the Yellow Rose Winery in Prosser, as well as the Sunshine Outpost, the Blue Bird Inn and James Carter, from his local wood shop, all of Bickleton. The Flat Possum Pickers were also kind to donate their talents to the event. It is hoped to make the Community Day the same Saturday of Labor Day next year.
