Get to know... Ashley McDonald

Ashley McDonald

Age: 32

Spouse: Dan McDonald

Children: Brayden

Occupation and place of work: Jitterz Espresso barista

My favorite part of the Yakima Valley is... that no matter where I go, it’ll always be home.

When I was a child, I wanted to grow up to be... a school teacher.

First job I ever had was... a cashier at Rite Aid in Sunnyside.

If a movie was made of my life, the actor/actress I’d want to play me is... Julia Roberts because she’s always been one of my favorites.

The best gift I ever received was... the love and support from my family and friends...and just nearly three years ago, my son.

The best piece of advice I ever received was... in order to achieve you have to believe. Believing means everything.

My favorite dessert is... chocolate mint ice cream.

One of my most memorable moments, besides getting married or having children was... when I turned 21 and, instead of staying at EWU, I came home to celebrate with my family.

If I could witness any event past, present, or future, I would want to see... the Super Bowl XLVIII, when my Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos to be champs.

I’d love to learn how to... speak a different language, such as Spanish or French.

The furthest I have been away from home is when I went to... school at Eastern Washington University or when I lived in Puyallup for five years.

My favorite leisure activity or hobby is... baking cookies or making crafty things.

If I didn’t have to worry about money, I’d spend my time... exploring the world with my family.

The one word that best describes me is... optimist. I’m always trying to find the good in all situations.

If I could change one thing about myself it would be... to be more direct about what’s going on in my little mind, instead of hanging on to it.
