TOPPENISH Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic Chief Dental Officer Dr. Mark Koday was named chair-elect of the American Dental Association’s Dental Quality Alliance (DQA) beginning in 2019.
With over 32 years of service to the patients of the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic network of care, Koday brings that experience to the DQA.
The Dental Quality Alliance was established by the American Dental Association to develop performance measures for oral health care.
In his 30 years, Dr. Koday says he’s seen many changes in the world of oral health and at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic.
Koday has years of experience with councils and boards on the state and national level in the arena of oral health and hopes to bring this experience to the DQA.
He was placed with Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic in Toppenish in 1986 as the organization’s dental director and has been with the organization since.
Koday also received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Migrant Health from the National Association of Community Health Centers in 2017. He has served on the Washington State Dental Quality Assurance Commission and now serves on the WA State Dental Association Board of Directors, the American Dental Association’s Council on Advocacy for Access and Prevention and the Dental Quality Alliance.
“It is an absolute honor to work alongside someone so influential in the oral health delivery of the nation,” Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic CEO Carlos Olivares said.
