GRANGER — Liberty Church, located just outside of Granger at 670 Liberty Road, is set to commemorate its 100th anniversary on Sunday, June 11.
Members of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church held their Station of the Cross Procession on Friday, April 7 as part of their Good Friday celebration. They walked along South 6th Street beginning at 6 p.m. from Franklin Ave. to the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 907 S. 6th St.

“God is love,” the Bible tells us in John. More than this we cannot ask, “Why?” Because Divine Love is the answer for our problems. There is nothing complicated about it.
In the Bible, John states, “God is love.”
We have been taught frequently that keeping the commandments of God, and following the teachings and example of Jesus Christ, will help us gain an eternal reward in heaven after the end of our mortal lives.
In times of stress, worry, and fear, people look for ways to find peace, assurance, and comfort. No one is at ease if they are fearful or concerned, especially about their wellbeing and health.
These seem to be trying times, but the important thing is what are we learning? Jesus said the second greatest commandment is “Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself.”
Wherever we turn these days, it is nearly impossible to avoid news, information or conversation about the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on all of us individually and collectively. Certainly, it has changed the way of living for every one of us, and some of these changes will likely outlive the life cycle of this virus.
President Trump said recently, “we are at war and we will win this war.” Another American president F.D. Roosevelt said “we have nothing to fear except fear itself.
Have you ever had a need for something and did not know how it would be supplied? Jesus said, “Your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him.” Sometimes we forget this, and we stress out as to what to do.
As Valentine’s Day draws near, signs of love are all around, hearts, flowers, valentine cards, etc. Love seems to be everywhere. What a lovely feeling. It is especially nice to have one day that celebrates Love.
In the Bible in the book of Revelation, it says, “And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.”
