GRANDVIEW — The American Legion’s annual Penny-a-day campaign is well underway, said Jim Davidson, Post No. 57 adjutant.

The campaign, traditionally in February, has been extended to Friday, March 8.

Donations may be made at various sites in the community, including the three elementary schools and area restaurants. The goal is to collect 28 pennies per resident.

The funds are used to support Legion national charities, such as Operation Comfort Warriors, as well as local youth scholarships, and Boys and Girls State programs.
