The 12th annual “In Their Shoes” fundraiser last month garnered about $20,000 for Rod’s House to help fight youth homelessness.

Asuncion “Chon” Marquez hosted an event at the Conquistador Mexican Restaurant in Sunnyside, one of six fundraising parties around the Yakima Valley.

Throughout the night there were items up for auction along with donation opportunities.

In a video shown during the event, Board Vice-President Drew Harris said the money gives homeless youth warm meals, showers, education and job assistance along with other help.
