GRANDVIEW — The City of Grandview is offering five grants of up to $10,000 to qualified new business owners as an effort to improve the local economy and help budding entrepreneurs.
These potential new businesses must be independently owned and operated; franchises are not eligible. Applicants should be a new business relocating to Grandview from another community or a new start-up business.
“Grandview is a family-friendly, growth-oriented community, and we are looking for ways to help new business owners settle into our city,” said Gloria Mendoza, Mayor of Grandview. “These grants will help new businesses kick-start their venture and bring new services and products for the city’s residents to utilize year-round.”
Funding is provided through the federal government (ARPA) and distributed/administered by the City of Grandview. No repayment will be required, with the intent that these funds will be used to better Grandview’s economy and foster a strong business community. This, in turn, will serve to create more jobs for Grandview residents and draw more out-of-town visitors. A recent community survey found that city residents wanted new businesses to locate here as a top priority for improving Grandview’s economy and the quality of life.
“Grandview has been steadily growing for years, making it one of the best places for new businesses to put down roots,” continued Mendoza. “We know we have the workforce and population to support these new businesses and I cannot wait to see how our city transforms over the next several years.”
Grandview’s motto ‘On the move… and growing!’ is exemplified by these grants to support new businesses.
Applications will be considered on first come, first-served basis.
