Publisher receives Golden Dozen Award

SEATTLE — The publisher and editor of The Daily Sun News will be recognized next month by the Society of Professional Journalists during a gala at Hyatt Olive 8.

Roger Harnack, 48, of Sunnyside, will receive at least one regional Excellence in Journalism award June 18. The society is recognizing Harnack for his work as editor and publisher of The Omak-Okanogan County Chronicle last year.

The regional award covers Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.

The Chronicle and The Daily Sun are sister newspapers; Harnack transitioned to Sunnyside last October.
