GRANDVIEW — The Grandview School Board has voted to not enter into a new contract with current Superintendent Henry Strom during their meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
“The board appreciates Mr. Strom’s service to the district over the years and has decided it is in the best interest of the district to move in a new direction,” the Grandview School Board stated in their announcement.
Strom’s current contract was set to expire at the end of June later this year though the district has voted on placing Strom on non-disciplinary paid administrative leave for the remainder of his contract.
Effective immediately, Jose Rivera will be taking up the role of acting superintendent.
“It is an honor and privilege to be selected acting superintendent for the Grandview School District,” Rivera said. “I want to thank the Grandview School Board for their continued leadership and for trusting me with this responsibility and the opportunity to serve our students, families, staff, and the entire Grandview community.”
