Fall’s first frost

Near the intersection of North Outlook Road and Van Belle Road, Thursday, Oct. 10, icicles formed when water dripping from barbed wire fencing and irrigation wheel lines froze as overnight temperatures hit a record low of 22 degrees Fahrenheit, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Smith at the Pendleton, Ore., weather station.
