Major fender bender

THREE CITED — There were no injuries as a result of the four-car crash Monday, Aug. 24, on Yakima Valley Highway, but three drivers received written citations, reported Sunnyside Police Commander Scott Bailey. The chain reaction collision occurred when vehicle four driven by Lilia Osorio, 51, Sunnyside, was waiting to make a left-hand turn onto Morgan Road. Vehicle two, driven by Desina Monzo Alvarez, 26, Sunnyside, and vehicle three, driven by a 16-year-old female, were also waiting for Osorio to make the turn. Vehicle one, driven by Luis Armenta Andrade, 22, Grandview, struck Monzo Alvarez’s car, crashing into the 16-year-old’s vehicle, whose car then collided into Osorio’s. Armenta Andrade was cited for following too closely and having no automobile insurance. Both the teenage driver and Monzo Alvarez were issued tickets for having no insurance. All vehicles were driven or towed from the scene by their owners, Bailey said.
