Multiple houses shot in Sunnyside over the weekend

A window of a residential house on the 900 block of Decatur Ave. is littered with bullet holes. There were seven impacts of the home discovered and eight shell casings found. No one was injured.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are looking into potential drive-by shootings at three homes in the Sunnyside area.

The first occurred Friday night around 11:30 on the 900 block of Decatur Ave. There were seven impacts of the home discovered and eight shell casings found. No one was injured.

The second occurred a little before 2:30 a.m. Saturday on Harrison Ave. in Sunnyside. There were 13 casings found with impacts to multiple vehicles and the home but no injuries.

“There is no indication that the two shootings were related,” said Sunnyside Police Commander Scott Bailey. “We are continuing to look into that.”

A third shooting occurred a little after 3:30 a.m. Saturday on Harrison Road. Yakima County Sheriff Spokesperson Casey Schilperoort said a gang house was shot up. There were no injuries.
