The city of Sunnyside is letting residents know that the annual water system flushing will take place from October 19th through the 22nd.

Public Works says they do this to “Flush out iron and manganese deposits, which cause ‘rusty’ looking water and for hydrant flow testing.”

Residents could see temporary discoloration of their water during the testing.

They recommend minimizing use of water during the testing time and running your household plumbing for 10 minutes in the morning to clear out any deposits.

The system flushing will take place from early morning each day through 4:00 p.m.

If you have any questions, contact the Public Works office at 509-837-5206.
