Monday, Jan. 3, Sunnyside City Hall closed its doors due to the inclement weather.

Due to unsafe roads because of snow and ice City Hall closed again on Thursday and Friday of last week.

They also have been closed Monday and Tuesday of this week.

At the Monday, Jan. 10, Sunnyside City Council meeting it was expressed that City Hall has been closed due to a short staff.

Multiple COVID outbreaks among city departments were discussed at the meeting.

Police Chief Al Escalera mentioned that there are four employees out with COVID.

Fire Chief Anderson said that there were two or three personnel out sick at the Fire Department.

Finance and Administrative Services Director Jamee Horner also stated that three customer service representatives were out with COVID either for themselves or family members.

Even though the finance side of City Hall is closed residents can pay their utility bill online or by phone. The building and planning side remains open.
