SILENT SALUTE — Harrison Middle School sixth grader Julian Puga- Zamora (in the yellow t-shirt) was one of more than 1,950 students who stood at attention for the Pledge of Allegiance this morning (Sept. 11) during the school’s annual 9/11 “Never Forget” Memorial ceremony honoring firemen and policemen in the community. The Patriot’s Day event included musical tributes by the school band and choir, and a flag ceremony by the Sunnyside Police officers and a 21-gun salute provided by the Lower Valley VFW Honor Guard. Music student Isaac Wise played taps above the crowd.
