Before we know it, the children will be back in school.

Parents will be trekking to the clothing and school supply stores, trying to check everything off the list of things needed in the classrooms... and then some.

Will the daughter want to wear dresses? Is she at the age where makeup is appropriate?

Will the son need two pair of shoes — football cleats or running shoes to accompany the every day footwear?

Do the kids need a 3-inch binder, or is a 1-inch sufficient?

It’s a crazy list of needs and wants, always putting a nifty dent in the pocketbooks.

But, not every child has parents with the means for meeting those needs.

There are organizations ready to pitch in to help those with a little less money in their pockets... the residents here in the Lower Valley who are barely getting by from paycheck to paycheck.

For those who can help out, do so. Find out which organizations and non-profits are sponsoring school supply drives. Let your neighbors know you care.
