Look about you. There are signs of Christmas everywhere. There is excitement for the kids because of the coming visit of Santa Claus.

For adults, the excitement is remembering that Jesus Christ came for a purpose 2017 years ago. The purpose remains the same today. Peace and love.

Love is not easy, some people will tell you. Peace is even more difficult, others will say. And both statements are true if you allow them to be.

We feel more love and peace in our office and around us at Christmas time. Countless people have been demonstrating love with toy, food and clothing donations for those in struggle.

On today’s Community page, Capt. Tony Castillo and Sunnyside firefighters, Black Rock golfers and Nouvella members are examples of this Christ-inspired work.

We applaud them and all the others in the lower valley who lead these efforts.

May you all have the merriest Christmas you can imagine.
