The camouflage fleece blanket I had donated as part of the holiday campaign for the Sunnyside Assisted Living Center residents found a home during their Christmas dance party last Wednesday.

Thirty-four Grandview High School Leadership students and classmates, along with middle and elementary school kids, and together with the generous support of Lower Valley businesses delivered an early bounty of Christmas joy for nine Grandview families last Thursday.

Children needing a little Christmas cheer will be helped along by the generosity of residents who donate new and unwrapped toys to be delivered on December 20. Toys donation boxes are located throughout the Zillah community, including city hall, city administrator Sharon Bounds said.

“Sing It Forward,” a holiday season fund raiser designed to spread holiday cheer is underway through the Historic Downtown Prosser Association.

The high school cheerleaders are hosting a mini cheer camp from 1 to 5:30 p.m. tomorrow.

Preceding the Artz-Fox Elementary School winter program last week, Mabton children from three to 12 years old were able to join in winter holiday activities, thanks to volunteers from the Mabton FFA, FCCLA, Mabton High School band and Mabton Counseling Service.
