SUNNYSIDE — The Lady Knights maintained their high-level of on court intensity, along with a determined conference objective in easily defeating the visiting Bickleton Pirates during a 25-6, 25-9, 25-10 sweep Thursday, Oct. 17.

An evening of good food, friendly conversation and bluegrass-gospel music was the setting for the 24th annual Sunnyside Christian School Foundation dinner last Thursday at the Sunnyside Christian Elementary School, 811 North Ave.

The Sunnyside Christian volleyball team’s hopes of a trophy were dashed in three sets by Almira-Coulee-Hartline on Friday morning at the 1B State Volleyball Tournament at the Yakima Valley SunDome. The Warriors opened the 8 a.m. match with a 25-18 set win. They won the second set, 25-17 and clinched their bid for the fifth/sixth-place trophy match with a 25-16 win.

The Lower Valley will be represented at the Washington State Geography Bee on April 1 at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma.
