PROSSER — The Mustangs (CWAC 2A, 1-0 and 2-2) won their first league game against the Selah Vikings (0-1,1-3) 38-0 Friday night, Sept. 27, at Art Fiker Stadium in Prosser.
The Mustangs played dominant offensive by running the ball well, and they defensively controlled the line of scrimmage, head coach Corey Ingvalson said.
“There’s no real secrets, you just got to execute and play well. We did tonight, hopefully we can continue that down the road,” Ingvalson stated.
Sophomore Quarterback/ defensive back Kaiden Rivera completed 15 of 19 pass attempts. He threw for 116 total passing yards and two touchdowns.
The mustangs were dominant both defensively and offensively, scoring in the first, second, and fourth quarter.
Senior running back Logan Candanoza ran the football 166 yards and scored one touchdown.
Senior wide receiver Will Thompson led total receiving yards. He contributed 58 total receiving yards and scored a touchdown off a 49-yard reception in the second quarter.
Prosser will play away against Grandview Friday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. at Rich Leenhouts Stadium.
